We all want clean unblemished skin, but having excessively oily skin is embarrassing and not very attractive. So this article is all about how to get rid of oily skin using common methods and some paid methods as well.

Overactive sebaceous glands are what typically cause oily skin. These glands produce sebum, which is an oily discharge. But when too much is produced it leaves your face looking shiny and dirty which usually tends to lead to many experiencing blackheads or acne breakouts.

Oily skin is normally an inherited condition but can also come about for a variety of other reasons including:

- Your diet
- Bad foods (fast food etc.)
- Little to no exercise
- Hormone offset
- Stress factors
- weather conditions
- certain types of cleansing products

So if you want to know how to get rid of oily skin, read the following and see if any of these things can help you.

Don’t Over Wash
Most people have the common misconception that if they wash their face 20 times a day, then their oil will naturally stop being secreted. This actually far from the truth as your skin will naturally create more oil because it thinks you aren’t producing any at all. Washing twice a day is plenty and only use facial cleansers.

Oil Blockers
Sometimes oil blockers seem like a good idea but these too will have your skin looking unnatural and clogging your pores only makes your skin worse. Avoid these topical cleansers if you can.

Diet Change
Your diet is one of the most important parts to cleaning up your oily skin. Our western culture is addicted to sugary foods and greasy fast food. These types of diets only make oil secretions that much more prominent. Start by cleaning up your diet and sticking to the main food groups. Proteins, good carbs, and healthy fats like avocados.

Minimize or Avoid the Wrong Type of Makeup
Makeup is a toughy for women because it’s part of their daily routine. Try to pick oil free skin care lines that really have data to backup their claims. It only takes a second to look at the bottle or tube and see whether or not it has the right ingredients that will keep you from clogging your pores.

These are just some ideas on how to get rid of oily skin and blackhead acne concerns.
But is there a treatment that will get rid of oily skin problems for good?

I’ve shown you a couple of the things you can do on your own to start combatting oily skin but now I’d like to show you one more way that is far more effective but one that does come with a price tag. It’s up to you but sometimes the best remedies are those that are tried and true and cleanse from within.

If you think about it, this really makes sense because instead of treating the after effects you are treating the root cause of the problem. If you can balance the flow of sebum it does not need me to tell you that a healthier looking complexion will follow and getting rid of zits and blackheads will hopefully be a thing of the past.

Remember, oily skin isn’t a terrible thing but controlling it is smart and will lead to healthier, more vibrant looking skin.
